The Phoenix Suns, having just acquired former Duke guard Austin Rivers from the Washington Wizards, are buying him out of his contract.
Reports differ on why but some suggest that Rivers refused to report and most agree that the parties came to a mutual agreement which will allow Rivers to become a free agent assuming he clears waivers.
He could then join a competent team, if it has a need for him, and be in the playoffs instead of a big mess like the Washington Wizards.
