Paolino, U.S. Claim Pan American Games Bronze

LIMA, Peru – Duke field hockey senior Margaux Paolino and the U.S. women’s national team captured Pan American Games bronze Friday with a 5-1 defeat of Chile.

Following a first quarter of action that resulted in a 1-1 tie, Team USA opened up the scoring with three tallies in the second quarter.

The squad bounced back in resounding fashion following a loss to Canada in Tuesday’s semifinals.

Paolino, a two-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America selection for the Blue Devils, was in the starting lineup for the U.S. throughout the tournament.
