DURHAM, N.C. - Sophomore Ade Owokoniran of the Duke volleyball team was named the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week, after amassing 40 kills over the weekend to help the Duke volleyball team go 2-1 in their last tournament of the regular season at the Hofstra Invitational. The weekend was highlighted by the Blue Devils upsetting No. 14 Oregon in five sets.
In the victory over the Ducks, Owokoniran tallied 10 kills before her 14 kill performance against St. John's Saturday. The Raleigh, N.C., native rounded out her solid weekend with 16 kills and just five attack errors in Duke's win over Hofstra.
