We’ve done this for all the old ACC schools now, including Georgia Tech, which joined the conference in time for the 1979-80 season.
Florida State joined in 1991 and the major wave of expansion started in 2004 with Miami and Virginia Tech joining and BC the following year.
So to cut to the chase, it gets harder to find favorites because after this, we’re not as familiar with the histories of the various programs before they joined the ACC.
So on to Florida State!
- Sam Cassell. He gained ACC immortality immediately by dubbing UNC a “cheese and wine crowd” after FSU shocked everyone by beating the Tar Heels in Chapel Hill in their first visit.
