WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Freshman Paolo Banchero had 24 points and No. 8 Duke hit 13 straight shots to open it up after halftime and beat Wake Forest 76-64 on Wednesday night with at LJVM Coliseum.
Fellow freshman AJ Griffin had a season-high 22 points in his first career start to help the Blue Devils (13-2, 3-1 ACC) bounce back from a home loss to Miami on Saturday. They did it with head coach Mike Krzyzewski sidelined by an illness while associate head coach Jon Scheyer served as acting coach.
