WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Junior Kelly Chen saw a successful day Saturday at the 2019 ITA Regional Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C., by advancing to the semifinals of the singles main draw.
In Sweet 16 action, Chen, ranked No. 5 by the ITA, defeated No. 101 Eliza Omirou of Wake Forest 3-6, 7-5, 6-3 before she went on to defeat North Carolina's No. 110 Alle Sanford in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 and advanced to the semifinals.
Competing alongside Chen in the Sweet 16 was No. 15 Meible Chi and Margaryta Bilokin.
