No. 21 Duke Drops Series Opener at Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 21 Duke softball team fell short in the series opener at Louisville, dropping a 2-0 decision in game one on Friday evening at Ulmer Stadium.

The Blue Devils (27-10, 15-10 ACC) saw four hits spread out between senior Jameson Kavel, juniors Deja Davis and Kyla Morris and sophomore Kamryn Jackson, but the Cardinals' (16-17, 10-12) edged Duke in the loss behind five of their own.

Louisville scored the game-winning run in the first inning as Celene Funke started things off with a triple and crossed home plate on a Duke fielding error for a 1-0 lead.
