SYRACUSE, N.Y.—Syracuse sophomore midfielder Brendan Curry scored with 40.9 seconds left in overtime to lift the 12th-ranked Orange to a 9-8 comeback victory over the No. 2 Blue Devils Sunday in a thrilling ACC men’s lacrosse game at Cicero-North Syracuse High School.
The Orange (5-2, 1-1) rallied from an 8-4 deficit with 6:28 remaining to stun Duke (8-2, 0-1) in the Blue Devils’ ACC opener. The Blue Devils led 8-4 in the fourth quarter, but were unable to score in the final nine-plus minutes as Syracuse held Duke to just two goals in the second half.
