SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 12 Duke softball (35-7, 15-3 ACC) dropped a 1-0 decision to Syracuse on Saturday afternoon at Skytop Softball Stadium.
Blue Devils starting pitcher Jala Wright (9-2) secured another strong performance in the circle, allowing just three hits to the Orange (21-19, 4-13 ACC) while striking out six batters.
The two sides spent the entire game battling back and forth, with the Blue Devils earning a strong chance to score in the second inning. Duke loaded the bases on singles by Kristina Foreman and Francesca Frelick, as well as an Ana Gold walk.
