* We just wanted to remind that until 2018, Kenan Stadium was named for William R. Kenan, Sr. and was paid for with money donated by William R. Kenan, Jr. When it became common knowledge last year that the stadium was named for a White Supremacist mass murderer who machine gunned scores of African-American citizens in Wilmington in 1899, UNC acted decisively and put up a new plaque that changed one letter - S to R.
