Fayetteville guard will be huge for the Pack.
Mark Gottfried landed a huge commitment Thursday when Fayetteville PG Dennis Smith committed to his Wolfpack program.
Smith, 6-2 and 190, is the top-rated point guard in the class of 2016 and #4 overall.
Although he has been recovering from an ACL injury, Smith is highly athletic and a superb defender.
Although Duke got Frank Jackson, perhaps because he was a better fit or perhaps because the staff felt less positive about getting Smith, consider this: this is the second recruit in about six months that Gottfried has beat Kentucky's John Calipari for (UK went after Shaun Kirk immediately after he committed to State, but after wavering slightly, he was a man of his word).
