DURHAM – Senior offensive lineman Jacob Monk was named Co-ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week following a strong rushing attack by Duke in its 38-17 victory over Virginia.
A native of Clayton, N.C., Monk played both center and guard for Duke on Saturday evening, spearheading an offense effort that produced 38 points, 26 first downs and 377 total yards, while committing zero turnovers, surrendering just one sack and converting on 2-of-3 fourth down attempts. Monk helped open holes for a ground attack that rushed 48 times for 269 yards and four touchdowns against a Virginia defense surrendering just 133.
