OMAHA, Neb. – Rising senior Michael Miller advanced to the semifinals of the men’s 100-meter butterfly and Duke graduate Ashley Twichell secured a spot in Saturday’s 800 freestyle final on a banner day for the Blue Devils at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
Miller impressed in the 100 butterfly preliminaries, going 53.32 to shave over a second off his personal best mark of 54.48. That placed him first in his heat and 18th in the field, but a pair of scratches moved the All-ACC performer into the event semifinals.
