DURHAM, N.C. – Duke junior infielder and right-handed pitcher Matt Mervis has been named to the Cape Cod Baseball League 2019 All-Star roster, announced by the league earlier this week.
Mervis, a member of the Cotuit Kettleers, has enjoyed a successful summer thus far. The left-handed slugger is batting .286 with an impressive 10 RBI in just 28 at-bats, while splitting time between designated hitter, first base and third base. Mervis owns a 2.25 ERA across five appearances this summer, and has struck out the last six batters he has faced.
The 2019 CCBL All-Star Game will be held in Orleans, Massachusetts, at Eldredge Park on Sunday, July 21st.
