DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women’s tennis freshman Maria Mateas is set to represent the United States in the annual Master’U BNP Paribas International Collegiate Team Competition, which kicks off Thursday, Nov. 29 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 2 in Grenoble, France.
With her invitation, Mateas becomes just the second Blue Devil woman to be selected for the tournament, as Beatrice Capra earned the honor in 2011.
The tournament will showcase the top American collegians against seven other countries’ teams in Belgium, China, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland and Italy.
