Kim Talks U.S. Open, NCAA Championship

DURHAM, N.C.— Duke University freshman women’s golfer Gina Kim will be making her second appearance in the U.S. Women’s Open this week. Prior to heading to Charleston, S.C., the rookie from Chapel Hill, N.C., took time to talk about the upcoming experience and reflected on her squad winning the national championship in Fayetteville, Ark.

Kim missed the cut in her first appearance in the U.S. Open in 2018, but is coming off an excellent showing at the NCAA Championship placing tied for 10th overall. She also went 2-1 in match play, including wins against two of the top golfers in the world – Albane Valenzuela of Stanford and Bianca Pagdanganan of Arizona.
