AUBURN, Ala. – Paced by an even-par, 72, by freshman Gina Kim in round one of the Evans Derby Experience, the top-ranked Duke women’s golf team sits in tied for sixth place with a five-over, 293, at the 6,250-yard, par 72 Saugahatchee Country Club in Auburn, Ala.
Kim, a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., collected 16 pars to go along with a birdie on the 153-yard, par three seventh and a bogey on No. 18 in round one. She used an eight iron on No. 7 and stuck it to within 12 feet and made the breaking left to right birdie putt.
