DURHAM – Softball graduate student Jameson Kavel has been named a first team CoSIDA Academic All-American, as the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced on Tuesday.
Kavel becomes the first CoSIDA Academic All-American in program history, after previously being tabbed to the All-District team for three consecutive years, including this season. The Blue Devils have had at least one All-District honoree in each of the last four years.
A native of Duluth, Ga., Kavel had a huge season that culminated in being named an NFCA All-American for the first time, by being tabbed to the third team.
