DURHAM – Graduate student safety Darius Joiner was named to the College Sports Communicators 2022 Academic All-America® Second Team.
Joiner is the 22nd Blue Devil in program history to earn Academic All-America honors and the first since current teammate Jackson Hubbard earned the honor in 2021. He joins Clemson's Will Shipley as the ACC's lone representatives on the All-America list.
Joiner, a 6-2, 200-pound Roanoke, Ala., native ranks second on the team in tackles with 90 and has 7.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks, two interceptions, four pass breakups, four quarterback pressures and one forced fumble.
