DURHAM, N.C. – A pair of senior Blue Devils swept the ACC Field Hockey Player of the Week awards Tuesday after leading Duke to two wins over top-10 opponents at the B1G/ACC Cup. Midfielder Aileen Johnson was tabbed the conference’s Offensive Player of the Week while back Amanda Kim received Defensive Player of the Week recognition.
Johnson spearheaded Duke’s scoring effort as the squad took down No. 10 Northwestern, 2-1, Friday and No. 3 Maryland in overtime Sunday, 2-1. The Oceanport, N.J., native found the back of the cage in both contests, with her tallies snapping scoreless ties both times.
