Jayson Tatum and his Boston Celtics are out of the playoffs after losing to the Miami Heat 125-113 in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Boston struggled again down the stretch which is disappointment certainly but not a huge surprise: of the primary rotation players, only Gordon Hayward and Kemba Walker are over the age of 26.
Correction: Enes Kanter is 28.
Still, this is a very young team that has a lot of growing to do yet. Marcus Smart is 26, Jaylen Brown 23, Robert Williams 22, Tatum 22 and Grant Williams 21.
Assuming GM Danny Ainge doesn’t blow up his core, the team should keep maturing and in a year or two, they’ll be much better in big games.
