It could have been one of the biggest comebacks in Australian Basketball history as Team Australia trailed by 11 with under five minutes to go in the fourth quarter against the Ukraine in the semifinals of the World University Games.
The Australians cut the lead to two with under 20 seconds to go, but could not get multiple attempts to go at the buzzer, giving Ukraine a 82-80 victory and a spot in the Gold Medal Game against the United States, who is being represented by the Clemson Basketball team.
Coming off of his tournament high in points, 19, yesterday against Argentina the Duke Basketball captain Jack White tried his best to lead the Australians to victory again, scoring 13 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
