When the numbers were crunched following this past Saturday’s games, there was some good news for Clemson. The Tigers went on the road, thumped Miami and moved to 7-0. In doing so, they appear to have the inside track for a College Football Playoff berth.
According to ESPN’s Football Power Index, the Tigers now have a 72 percent chance to finish the regular season undefeated, and no other school in the country has better odds of winning its conference with one or fewer losses. Scour through the other advanced metrics, and the numbers are equally encouraging.
