Irving Ties U.S. Olympic Record in Win Over France

RIO DE JANEIRO – Kyrie Irving recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 assists on Sunday as the U.S. capped pool play with a 100-97 win over France to clinch the No. 1 seed heading into the elimination round at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Irving tied Phil Ford (1976), Leon Wood (1984), Michael Jordan (1992) and LeBron James (2012) for the U.S. Olympic single-game record with his 12 assists. On top of his assist total, Irving didn’t commit a turnover on Sunday and is currently averaging 6.0 assists with a 5.00 assist-to-turnover ratio in Olympic play.
