DURHAM – Duke graduate student goaltender William Helm has been named the ACC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week and the PNC Achievers Duke Student-Athlete of the Week following his performance in the Blue Devils' win over North Carolina. These are first weekly honors for the first-year Blue Devil.
Helm made 14 saves, including five in the fourth quarter, to help fourth-ranked Duke to a commanding 15-8 victory over No. 14 North Carolina. Making his eighth start of the year, Helm and the Blue Devils held the Tar Heels without a goal for the first 9:50.
