Senior Sam Harris started the 32 player singles draw with a match against Jackson State’s Tyler Smith. The Melbourne, Australia native dropped Smith 6-3, 6-2 to move onto the Round of 16. She will be joined there by junior Kaitlyn McCarthy who cruised past Northern Kentucky’s Margita Sunjic 6-1, 6-0. Harris will meet Ohio State’s 33th-ranked Anna Sanford while McCarthy’s next matchup will be with St.
