CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Redshirt junior Haley Gorecki collected a game-high 28 points as the Blue Devils downed rival North Carolina, 85-69, Thursday evening at Carmichael Arena in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Gorecki, who hails from Palatine, Ill., notched her fourth straight double-double as she totaled 28 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one blocked shot in 36 minutes. Duke improved to 11-11, 3-7 I the ACC, while North Carolina dropped to 14-10, 5-5.
The Blue Devils featured a good start scoring the first five points of the game as junior Leaonna Odom and Gorecki had a jumper and three-pointer, respectively, over the first 1:15 of the contest.
