DURHAM, N.C. – Duke’s Haley Gorecki registered a game-high 26 points, but the Blue Devil women’s basketball team dropped a 64-57 decision to Virginia Tech Thursday evening in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Blue Devils fell to 11-13 overall and 3-9 in the ACC, while the Hokies improved to 16-8, 3-8. With the loss, it broke Duke’s 23-game winning streak versus Virginia Tech.
Both teams struggled at the start with Duke’s Gorecki scoring the first bucket of the game at 7:31 on the clock and the Blue Devil defense limited the Hokies without a basket until the 6:29 mark.
