Goodchild Helps Australia into Round of 16

BANGKOK, Thailand – With the group stage completed at the 2019 FIBA World Cup, Duke University rising sophomore Miela Goodchild and the Australian Gems squad advanced to the round of 16 with a 2-1 record in Bangkok, Thailand.
After falling in its opening contest to the United States, 79-56, the Gems downed Hungary, 81-71, and Korea, 78-59, to move on to bracket play.

Goodchild, who is from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, came off the bench in all three games for Australia. She was a key contributor in the recent win over Korea as she scored 10 points, had three rebounds and had one assist in nearly 20 minutes of action.
