Good news for Zion Williamson: according to TMZ, Puma has “come out of nowhere” to push Nike in the competition to sign the young phenom.
Nike obviously has more resources than anyone else but it doesn’t guarantee them a win. Michael Jordan was set to sign with Adidas out of UNC when Nike informed him they could make any changes he wanted to his shoes.
Game, set and match to Nike.
It doesn’t much matter to Williamson in some ways. As long as his shoes are sturdy and don’t fall apart, he could probably just pick whoever offers the most money.
