GREENSBORO, N.C. – A pair of Duke redshirt freshmen – linebacker Joe Giles-Harris and quarterback Daniel Jones – earned weekly honors from the ACC following their performances against North Carolina last Thursday night.
Giles-Harris was named the league’s Co-Linebacker of the Week along with Pitt’s Matt Galambos while Jones picked up his third conference Rookie of the Week citation.
In Duke’s 28-27 win over No. 15 North Carolina, Giles-Harris registered a season-high 16 tackles including one stop for lost yardage. The Nyack, N.Y., native spearheaded a Blue Devil defensive unit that held the Tar Heels to second half totals of six points, 147 total yards and one third down conversion in four attempts.
