LONG GROVE, Ill. – Duke women's golf rising senior Megan Furtney claimed the Illinois State Women's Amateur Championship on Thursday with a 2UP victory over Minnesota's Grace Curran at The Grove Country Club in Long Grove, Ill.
It marked the first victory for Furtney in the Illinois State Women's Amateur Championship.
"Coming into the week, I knew I'd have to play a lot of golf to get to the championship match," said Furtney. "So, I really just took each day one shot at a time. Having a rematch in the finals against Grace was a lot of fun.
