Furtney Paces Blue Devils in Rain-Delayed First Round

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – Seeing action in her second collegiate tournament in the spring opener Sunday, Duke freshman Megan Furtney paced the Blue Devils in round one at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. Cold and rainy weather forced a delay early during the front nine and three Blue Devil groups were not able to finish their day at the 6,017-yard, par 71 Palos Verdes Golf Club in Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.

Furtney, a product of St. Charles, Ill., carded three birdies, including back-to-back on holes No. 15 and No. 16 on her way to finishing with an even-par, 71.
