DURHAM, N.C.—Duke sophomore defender Matthias Frick has been named the Duke Student-Athlete of the Week following his performances in a 2-0 week for the Blue Devils, which included a 2-0 upset of No. 10 Virginia in Charlottesville.
Also voted to the College Soccer News Team of the Week for his performances, Frick excelled on both sides of the ball last week. Frick scored a goal and helped anchor the Blue Devil defense to two wins last week.
In a midweek game with Wofford, Frick played 79 minutes and was instrumental in Duke building a 4-1 lead before being subbed out for just the second time of the season.
