Freshmen Pace Blue Devils Sunday at Turning Stone

VERONA, N.Y. – A pair of freshmen led the way for the Duke men's golf team on Sunday as the Blue Devils opened the 2021-22 season at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate at the Kaluhyat Golf Club in Verona, N.Y.

Duke finds itself in fourth place in the 15-team field through 36 holes, shooting a 1-under 575 as one of four teams in red figures. LSU paces the field at 22-under, followed by host Missouri (-11), Penn State (-2), Duke (-1) and Delaware (+11) to round out the top five.

Kelly Chinn made his Duke debut with a 1-over 73 in the first round and followed with a sizzling, 3-under 69 in the second to find himself at 2-under par through 36 and tied for 10th.
