This year’s NFL Draft completed with two Blue Devils drafted: offensive lineman Laken Tomlinson and wide receiver Jamison Crowder were picked up by the Detroit Lions in the 1st round and the Washington Redskins in the 4th round respectively. Even though they were the only two Duke players drafted, several other former Duke Football players were picked up by teams as undrafted free agents immediately after the draft to compete for a roster spot during summer training camps.
Wide receiver Issac Blakeney signed with the San Francisco 49ers, who want to add more offensive weapons for QB Colin Kaepernick, quarterback Anthony Boone will join Tomlinson in Detroit to compete for a backup spot behind Matthew Stafford, offensive tackle Takoby Cofield will join Crowder on the Washington Redskins to add depth to their offensive line and help protect RG3, and defensive end Jordan DeWalt-Ondijo has agreed to a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles to add depth to their defense.
