The Atlantic Coast Conference recently released their annual women’s soccer awards, and four Blue Devils were honored for their performances this season.
The Blue Devils were led by senior defender/midfield Christina Gibbons, who was an All-ACC First Team selection and was named the 2016 ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Gibbons is an all-conference first team performer for the third straight season. She helped Duke record nine shutouts this season.
Senior midfielder/forward Toni Payne joined Gibbons on the All-ACC First Team. Payne was huge for the Blue Devils this season totaling 16 points with six goals and four assists with two game-winning goals this season.
