DURHAM, N.C. – Recent Duke graduate Katherine Maitland, rising seniors Rhea Bergman, Marissa Donadio and Shannon Tierney and rising junior Kiernan Spencer were named Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athletes in 2018, the organization announced this week.
To be named a CRCA Scholar-Athlete the student-athlete must have a 3.5 cumulative or higher grade-point average for her career, meet all eligibility rules as defined by her institution, be in her second, third or fourth year of eligibility and been a member of her institution's NCAA or IRA eligible boat(s) for a minimum of 75 percent of the current spring races or racing in a regional conference.
