DURHAM – No. 12 Duke (11-1) scored 16 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to defeat Appalachian State (9-3), 28-2 on Tuesday at Jack Coombs Field. It was head coach Chris Pollard's 350th win in a Blue Devils uniform, moving him six wins away from tying Steve Traylor (1988-99) for second most all-time at Duke.
Graduate Ben Miller finished the day 4-for-5 with three runs scored and two home runs. Miller collected seven RBIs, breaking his previous high of six against Dartmouth on April 3, 2022.
