Elko Selects Bower as Defensive Ends Coach

DURHAM – Duke head football coach Mike Elko announced Thursday that Harland Bower will join the Blue Devil gridiron program and serve as an assistant coach. Bower will coach Duke's defensive ends.

Bower and Elko served on the defensive staff together for the 2021 season at Texas A&M University, where Bower was a defensive analyst for the Aggies during their 8-4 season, including an invitation to participate in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl. The two also worked together at the University of Notre Dame for the 2017 season in which they helped the Irish defense rank in the top half nationally in four major defensive categories.
