Elgeziry, Ferrari Garner ACC Postseason Awards

CHARLOTTE - Duke fencing head coach Omar Elgeziry and Christina Ferrari garnered ACC postseason awards, the conference office announced Thursday.

Elgeziry was named ACC Women's Co-Coach of the Year following his successful first season at the helm of the Blue Devils while Ferrari was named ACC Co-Women's Fencer of the Year for foil.

Elgeziry helped guide the women's team to a 27-6 regular-season record and finished the year ranked fifth nationally in the USFCA poll. Five Duke women qualified for the NCAA Championship under his guidance as Ferrari and Charlotte Koenig both captured All-America accolades with eighth and ninth-place finishes, respectively, in women's foil.
