Given the makeup of its roster, and coach Mike Krzyzewski’s honest appraisal of his team’s strengths and not-such strengths prior to the season, it’s no surprise Duke isn’t exactly burning up the nets with a 3-point barrage.
Krzyzewski has been one of the most prolific employers of the 3-pointer.
This year, though, through a dozen games, the portion of Duke’s shots taken from the bonusphere is 31.7 percent, matching the output in 1995, when Krzyzewski was sidelined by exhaustion and back troubles and the Blue Devils sank to the bottom of the ACC standings.
Since then, only in 1999 and 2007 did they rely less heavily on threes.
