DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men’s basketball team is ranked No. 1 this week for the 134th time in the AP poll era (since 1949-50), tying the NCAA record held by UCLA for most weeks ranked No. 1.
The newest poll was released Monday, with the 10-0 Blue Devils being the consensus choice among the 65 AP voters for this week’s top spot, which Duke has held the entire season.
Duke has been ranked No. 1 in the AP poll 78 times since the start of the 1997-98 season, far and away the most in the nation (North Carolina is second with 39).
