LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Blue Devil throwers took center stage for the Duke track & field program during the first day of the Beach Invitational Friday, led by redshirt senior Thomas Lang in the men’s javelin.
Lang, a returning All-American from the 2015 outdoor season, logged his best performance of the 2016 campaign, throwing the javelin 237-2 (72.29m) to finish ninth overall and place as the top collegian. According to the national leaderboards heading into the day, Lang’s throw would rank 17th among NCAA Division I throwers this year and first in the ACC.
