CARY, N.C. – Following an impressive opening day at the Duke James Bonk Invitational, the Blue Devils continued their success at the tournament Saturday in both singles and doubles action.
Duke cruised to an 8-0 start in singles Saturday morning and kept the momentum rolling in the afternoon, with four Blue Devils earning spots in finals matches. Junior Edu Güell, who put together a 3-0 day between singles and doubles, won twice to set up a finals meeting with teammate Garrett Johns Sunday morning. Also going 3-0 on the day were junior Sean Sculley and freshman Andrew Zhang, both of whom will have the chance to play for singles titles Sunday, and rookie Samuel Rubell, who won twice in singles consolation play.
