Duke Pushes South Carolina Before The Gamecocks Take Control Late, Winning 77-61

Duke showed a lot of heart and potential, sticking with #1 South Carolina until deep in the 4th quarter, when the Gamecocks overwhelmed the Blue Devils with an impressive finishing kick.

With 7:46 to go, the game was tied 55-55. From there, South Carolina outscored Duke 22-6. All five starters finished in double figures and freshman sensation Milaysia Fulwiley came off the bench for nine.

What can you say? They’re #1 for a reason.

But Duke gave them a solid game until the last few minutes and it’s something to build on.

After the game, coach Kara Lawson said this: “I thought we battled back there and was able to tie it.
