Duke Freshman Baker Earns HS All-American Honors

DURHAM, N.C. - Duke freshman Dana Baker added another accolade to her decorated high school career, receiving high school All-America honors, which were announced Wednesday morning by Track & Field News.

Baker was recognized as the top-ranked girls’ javelin thrower in the nation, improving from her No. 2 ranking a year ago on the All-America list. A javelin thrower from Olathe, Kan., Baker comes to Duke from Olathe North High School, where she was a three-time state Class 6A champion as part of her undefeated prep career in the javelin throw and won the American JavFest with a throw of 55.
