The turnaround of the Duke football program in just one season under head coach Mike Elko has been nothing short of remarkable.
The Blue Devils rattled off nine wins, something not done in the program’s history since 2014, including a victory in the Military Bowl to cap off the first winning season in Durham since 2018.
Given the rapid success of the team, and rumors swirling that Northwestern could be targeting the Duke head coach to fill its coaching vacancy, Vice President and Director of Athletics Nina King opted to extend the contract of Elko, and his assistant coaches this summer.
