It’s been a great week for Duke fall sports, as Blue Devils have already earned conference player of the week awards in football and volleyball. Duke Field Hockey recently added to the total for this week, as they swept the ACC Offensive and Defensive players of the week given to senior midfielders Aileen Johnson and Amanda Kim.
Johnson and Kim helped Duke recently defeat two consecutive Top 10 opponents in the inaugural Big Ten/ACC Field Hockey Cup. Offensive Player of the Week Aileen Johnson scored the first goal for Duke in both games against then-#10 Northwestern and then-#3 Maryland, while Defensive Player of the Week Amanda Kim helped the Blue Devils limit their ranked B1G opponents to just one point each and with Duke only allowing 6 points total in all their games so far this season.
