NEWTON, Mass. – Top-ranked Northwestern scored a goal in the first and third quarters to hand 18th-ranked Duke field hockey its first setback of the 2022 season. The Blue Devils had one goal disallowed and a penalty stroke saved in the loss at the ACC/BIG Cup hosted by Boston College.
The Wildcats improve to 3-0, while Duke falls to 2-1. Each of Duke's first three opponents this season were ranked in the top 20.
